The bibliography on Vetri is extensive, widely cataloged and present among the major southern painters, a pupil of Domenico Morelli, with whom he also established a family bond and married his daughter Eleonora, a teacher for many years at the Institute of Fine Arts in Naples...
He executed fresco mural decorations and paintings and tempera also in numerous churches in Ragusa, Molfetta, Naples, Cosenza, Amalfi
